Sculpture
Atchafalaya sculpture, the remains of cypress stumps dating back to the turn of the century when all the trees were cut. All the trees in the Atchafalaya are second growth trees. The swamp forest is not a renewable resource as we normally think about a tree. The reason is that ten or more feet of water flood over and kill the seedling trees that come up every year when the water is down.
