Louisiana Herons

Young Louisiana Herons (Egretta caerulea). The chicks stay motionlesss so that they will not be noticed. The Atchafalaya Basin provides prime habitat for over 170 bird species. Although technically known as the Tricolored Heron many in Louisiana still like the old name.
